New season will start on Monday, August 5th.
Greetings, Citizens,
We interrupted our usual schedule for some breaking news… To mark 5 years of Combat Cards this Season is a special Anniversary Season! This means you can expect bigger and better rewards, including copies of 16 different Legendary Warlords! The Warlords on offer cover the span of Combat Cards, so gives a chance to boost old favourites and maybe even get your hands on some Warlords for the first time.
The balance of the game overall is still in a great spot, which is great! With that in mind, and the focus on all of Combat Cards we’re revisiting a number of older Legendary Warlords. While non are getting a full rework, some of the most expensive Warlords have been reduced in cost. Giving them more space in their decks and a cleaner gap between them and the new Supreme Commanders.
Aeldari:
Fury of the Craftworld – Avatar of Khaine
-5 Cost, -40 Wounds
The Avatar’s cost has always been a big hurdle. With the rule requiring ideally as many bodyguards as possible, or some really durable cards to stack up the buffs, the tight deck space left each deck feeling like there was always a compromise. 5pts should make the difference between an additional filler in your existing deck or a tactical upgrade to key card.
Klaivaulch – Craftworld Saim-Hann Wraithblade
+5 Melee
A great example of a high-durability melee card, which is rare for the Aeldari, but a bit too pricey to squeeze in a new Avatar deck. Add into that a boosted Melee this card is more than just a wall now and has better use cases in Lelith and Urien decks too!
Kalistri the Huntress – Ynnari Howling Banshee
+5 Melee
Deathblow cards always need more Melee, so here’s a meaningful top-up for Kalistri. Another card not seeing much play, but with a maximed Deathblow she should be all the more attractive in many Aeldari decks powered by card death.
Necron:
Imotekh the Stormlord – Phaeron of the Sautekh Dynasty
-5 Cost, -40 Wounds
Imotekh still sits at a comfortable mid point, where any drastic rule reworks or adjustments are really needed, but adding more deck space certainly doesn’t hurt, and makes new builds available to a classic Warlord.
Feeding Machines – Szarekhan Dynasty Canoptek Scarabs
+4 Melee
Another classic that has fallen out in favour of cheaper utility cards, but will be a perfect addition as a mono-attack card to slot into the new space in your Imotekh decks. And now with more bites!
Eternal Scythe – Sautekh Dynasty Lychguard
+10 Wounds
Melee Necrons has always been on the lower end compared to mono-ranged and balanced builds. Part of this comes down to the Melee offering either being durable with low damage, or high damage with low wounds. As a strong damage dealer, a good bump to the Lychguard’s wounds should solve some of those issues!
Space Marine:
Roboute Guilliman – Primarch of the Ultramarines
Author of the Codex: “Additionally the end of turn ready value is increased by 100% -> 150%.”
Guilliman was one of our first Supreme Commanders long before they were even a concept, and as such his rule may seem a bit on a different scale to the others. While not a slouch by any terms, his stat line was where a huge amount of his power came from, and his ready boost rule could too easily be picked apart by Outflank and the like. With the boost amount increased, his attack pivots should be all the more devastating and give a lot more value into an alternating attack strategy rather than just rely on massive one-turn strikes.
Brother Sirras – Ultramarines Reiver
+6 Range, +6 Melee
If Guilliman is getting a boost, it makes sense to follow with some more Ultramarines. Sirras is a classic all-rounder, but one that feels his age a bit perhaps. With knife freshly sharpened and bolt rounds newly blessed he should be dealing notably more damage behind the protection of his fear trait.
Ancient Basidas – Ultramarines Primaris Ancient
+10 Wound, +5 Range, +5 Melee
With a wealth of Inspiring Presence options, everyone’s favourite starting piece often gets outstripped. An all-around glow-up should bring the Ancient back to modern times and hopefully see play in more than just beginner decks!
Ork:
Ghazghkull Thraka – Prophet of the WAAAGH!
Great WAAAGH!: “this Warlord gains +10 -> +20 melee attack”
The original Ghazghkull is set up to be a game closer, but with the increased lethality of the game even his boosted stats don’t feel as game ending as they should do, so with a buff to his Melee boost he should be able to more reliably clear the lane in front when he drops and make his feel like more of a momentum swing than ever before.
Mad Dok Grotsnik – Deranged Painboy
-3 Cost, +3 Range, +5 Melee
Notably, the most expensive Medicae option, this has squeezed the Mad Dok out of a lot of lists. Bringing his cost down along with increasing his attacks should make him easier to fit in and able to get stuck in much more reliably.
Flyboss Skardakka – Goff Clan Dakkajet
-8 Cost
The Dakkajet, for those of you with long memories, is an infamous card that had to be nerfed at least 3 times in the Badrukk meta hey-day. Long since past, it’s only fair that he’s back to his old self and ready to lay down some serious Dakka.
Tyranids:
The Swarmlord – Will of the Hive Mind
-4 Cost, -30 Wounds
Another classic big Warlord with a case of too big to fit much else. And when you’re Nids, you want as much space for your biggest monsters. While 4 points is going to be revolutionary, with the amount of versatile filler options, or now the ability to something like the Winged Prime instead of a Warrior, there should be plenty of new options to play around with!
Specimen: BH-104-IA-Θ – Hive Fleet Leviathan Genestealer
+5 Melee
Talking of good filler, the Genestealer often gets squeezed out. With a new max damage of up to 53 on a 5pt Furious Charge, it should be looking much more attractive! Perfect for your new Swarmlord deck, or a great free damage burst for the Parasite.
Specimen: BH-222-PA-Δ – Hive Fleet Behemoth Neurothrope
-3 Cost
Another classic build for the Swarmlord was Tyranid psykers. Well with the Neurothrope down by 3 that’s now a much more interesting potential of 7 more deck points for Swarmlord Psychic. With Tyranid psykers also being on the more expensive side, reducing the cost of a Psychic Link card makes sense to allow it to get the most out of its rule more reliably.
And that’s it for this season! Some new life in some older warlords, with some complementary bodyguard boosts, which keep with this month’s theme of celebrating all things Combat Cards, both old and new. There so much to look forward to in the coming weeks, and for the whole month to follow! Let’s take a Season to absorb the nostalgia and bring some Classics out to play!
There are only two Orks cards and you were able to swap the description with the picture

This planned(unplanned) maintanance is still continuing for the 2nd day of 5th anniversary update.
Really…. 2 days of down is unacceptable… Without eventi a planned restore date… Very bad!!!
At least gift everyone with some plasma and cards
Id like a space marine character specialty figure.
Can we ban captain acheran? Holy crap PvP was just so unenjoyable because space marines have too many shield cards and low cost legendaries with ridiculous stat lines, the extra 9 hits the commander gives in tandem with busted space marines cards just made for constantly going up against the same space marine deck with the same cards again and again. I just started instantly surrendering games against the commander because everybody just played the exact same deck with the exact same shield cards.
The Avatar still has stat issues. If you don’t understand it, compare it to Logan Grimnar: Adjusted Avatar- cost 68, 355hp, 75 shooting and 128 melee. Logan – cost 49, 384hp, 50 shooting and 128hp. Those are maxed stats. Seems like Logan is pretty damn good for a cost difference of 19.
Here’s a thought. Instead of updating the cards, maybe update your servers so that every update doesn’t cause server errors for hours. I am tired of having to wait hours after each update. I like new cards but I like stability more.
Mal la actualización llevo todo el día intentando entrar y nada
the new ghosar is tooo op and needed to be nerfed
PLANNED MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS:
Ve apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We will be back up and running as fast as possible.
Please try awin later.
Keep an eye out for any updates via our social media
channels.
What did you do with this game??? On the second day after the (un)planned maintenance the the server still unreachable!!!
Trust me, they know. I work in tech. They’re probably freaking out. People ARE losing sleep over this. I do like playing this game though, and I have missed allot of play over this 😭
What did you all do…?
How is this a celebration of five years?!
You completely broke the game with the last deployment!
Where’s your test automation? How can you have so totally ruined such a simple game? Are you aware of how many negative experiences you’ve created?
Members of our clan and myself have been locked out for 36 hours, then when people finally logged in our clan is no longer there – and players who tried to claim rewards for last season have got nothing!
What are you going to do to fix this mess for your loyal paying customers?
