For those of you who don’t know, we will soon be releasing an update that will add a new level between Trait Rank 3 and 4 which will upgrade all the stats a card has, and Epics and Legendary will be able to unlock second traits. Additionally there will be a cosmetic level that will also be available to all cards as their final level. There will be another blog post out in the near future that will cover this in a lot more detail, but it is worth mentioning again now, as it is a big driver for the changes coming in this Balance Pass.
With the “omni-level” stat upgrade, it will be scaling as upgrades do currently based on card cost and card rarity – the largest and rarest card getting the most benefit from an upgrade – and as such some larger cards may need adjusting down and some smaller cards may need adjusting up. Additionally with the addition of secondary traits there are a number of factors to take into account, most notably Shielded pairing with a lot of traits can be incredibly strong. Mix into this that there are a number of cards that were already in need of adjustment this proves a good opportunity to make a wide sweeping change.
In this pass we have an equal number of buffs and nerfs, with 30 cards receiving buffs and 30 cards receiving nerfs. While there may need to be some adjustments in future, this will be by the far the most drastic changes we will be implementing with any others that follow being a case of seeing how things settle after the new release. In this case we are addressing cards that are clearly going to be problematic, either for being too strong or too weak. Additionally worth noting in the cases of any Warlords being adjusted, these changes are based purely on the card as a unit, so its stats and cost, rather than its Warlord Rule, as these will be addressed separately.

Hi guys,
Just want to say I love the game, but the changes to Legendary card access is killing me. It used to be that once a legendary was added to the card pool you could generally get one fairly easily. It might cost some plasma or need some effort in an event but you could get it. Now I have not gotten a single new legendary card since the changes to their rarity. I really try and collect all the cards, but the lack on being able to get new legendary cards as they join the card pool is very disheartening.
On the plus side I like the new League cards and burned a whole lot of plasma on them. (But I only got one copy of the leader despite how many cards I got. More Legendary card unhappiness.)
Please keep up the good work and hope you can make getting new cards a bit easier.
You not done things right,
Your nerfs make no sense. And if they make sense in the future why nerf things now and just wait until this second trait thing happens.
