As we are coming to the end of the current ranked season we will be running a balance pass. Based on the data this season we have decided to adjust four of the least used Warlords and two of the least used traits to improve their viability. The details of these changes are below.
We have also taken a look at the trait balance amongst factions and made some changes to even them out. The last portion of this balance pass lists out which cards will be receiving a trait change. Further changes may be made down the line, and new trait releases will keep this in mind going forward as well.
With all that covered, on to the changes themselves:
Warlord Changes:
Boss Zagstruk – Leader of da Vulcha Skwad

Previous wording:
When one of your Ork cards destroys an enemy card, a random enemy card loses -20 Wounds.
New wording:
If a friendly card would Ready, it instead makes an attack for 100% of its melee stat. If the card cannot make a melee attack, it will Ready as normal.
Grand Master Voldus – Grey Knights Grand Master
We have rebuilt Grand Master Voldus to make him 14 points cheaper and adjusted his stats down slightly to match. This should allow more versatility when deck building with him whilst maintaining his strength. The full details of the rework can be found below.

I like how willing you guys are to totally rework a card. A lot of developers with similar games, once they make something there’s no going back. Balance changes are an awesome way to stay in tune with your audience and keep the game healthy. Keep up the great work!

Boss zagstruk special rule doesn’t make sense now. Does it mean I can attack with my range cards and my melee will attack too? No, because with a melee stat they wouldn’t ready.

I think you missed an opportunity to make Ahriman’s warlord trait useful. Yes it’s fluffy, but he is the only warlord with an absolutely useless trait. And yes it’s useless. Anything that can hurt and help in equal measure is not useful. The only reason I use Ahriman is the complete challenges and in clan chat, most agreed Ahriman needed love badly. Just my 2 cents.

The only other model which I can think of that needs a stronger boost is the Necron ‘Lychguard Ogdobeckh’ 12 melee damage for so long renders it pretty much useless :/

Kaptin Badrukks ability needs to be altered please like I said in the comment that was removed with the ork units being such high wounds and high shooting output means that there is an extreme power imbalance.
When You reach level 71 ther are no more point in the misiones to level up, so would be Nice to misions to give You cards or gold, iam current 2562/37460 so i have been playing misions to level up without really getting nothing. For your time thanks

Malachus – Genestealer Cults Kelermorph NEEDS a de-buff. 10 cost for 40 Damage at lvl2 is busted. I get that its a rare card… but, there are cards that are double the cost that dont do simmilar damage until lvl 6-7. Plz, its wack.

Please add more high points Genestealers. Like the vehicles or the big Aborrant creature. Maybe even change the patriachs warlord trade to ‘plus 5% melee dmg each turn’. Plus 2dmg just does not skale at all as the rounds dont get longer at higher lvls above 40.

Kaptain Badrukk needs to be nurfed, I love orcs but even at a low player level you’re capable of making a deadly deck with him, once you’re a high level player using him as your war boss, that 50% damage on killing a unit just destroys line after line.

It would be great to have thematic lists for factions. All Aspect Shrines represented with Exarchs and Phoenix Lords, and more Space Marine bodyguards of certain factions, allowing you to field all Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, etc. The Orks need more cards too.

These all seem like good changes. I dont know if its just me, but the necron traits, except for the destroyer lord, seem weak. Especially to psychic heavy decks. Which I see all the time

These are welcome changes but I do believe there are additional changes that can be made. There are some point differences between models that seem to be factored based on faction and not the effect of the unit.
