Today we’re unveiling our latest new Warlord this time for the Necron faction! It’s been some time since the Necrons have had a new Warlord so this is a much needed injection of something fresh into the faction!

The Nekrosor is feared even by the other Necrons as being able to harness the Destroyer virus, being the sole Necron ever to fully retain his mind.  It’s even speculated that he was the first to host the virus and even its origin point. As such he is one of the singly most destructive Necrons that have ever stalked the Galaxy.

Warlord Rule: Prophet of Destruction

His Warlord rule Prophet of Destruction encapsulates his sheer destructive power and his nigh invulnerability:

“This Warlord takes 25% less damage for each other friendly unit in play. In addition, whenever this Warlord destroys an enemy card, permanently increase the attack of all friendly cards by 20%.”

Over the years there have been various Warlords that have taken the lead from the front approach, and they are either now quite dated, or do so in a way that is better when leading from the front, but still function without doing so.

The Nekrosor presents the full “lead from the front” package with a modern rules style. Boasting impressive defensive capabilities, while also wracking up an impressive offensive buff the more cards he’s able to bring down. Since the defensive buff is most effective with 2 bodyguards, the earlier he is on the field the more boardguards there will be to protect him.

With his traits of Fear and Berserk, this means his best case damage reduction will reduce all incoming attacks from cards opposite to just 25%, and those weakened attacks will just increase his attack further with Berserk.

Necrons are also set up in a perfect position to support him with a wealth of bodyguards with Medicae, Taunt, Inspiring Presence and Shield to both protect him, and stay on the field longer to keep up the defensive barrier. 

Cold Logic. Overwhelming Force.

He’ll be a satisfying power Warlord to play as he racks up kills and shrugs off most damage, while proving a solvable challenge for the opponent where the options are to try and force damage through his defences or strategically pick off his support leaving him exposed.
