The new season will start on Monday, December 22nd.

Greetings, citizens!

From showing gratitude to the Imperial armoured division for the power of their steel wrath this Tanksgiving. We now give thanks to the one true Dark Master, Be’lakor, the first Daemon prince. With a lot of recent focus on Chaos there’s less cards than normal needing an immediate balance tune up, however we have decided to rework a few daemons that should make them a lot more of a fresh pick as well as more appealing. Before that we’ve got the Warlord updates and this season it’s just buffs, with the Top 5 all sitting within a couple of % of each other.

Seasonal Balance Changes:

Commissar Yarrick

Hero of Armageddon

Position: 70th | Winrate: 73.8% | Playrate: 3.0%

Iron Will: When one of your friendly cards is destroyed, one of your cards Readies at [225 -> 250%].

Yarrick is a classic and a favourite. His ebbed and flowed of the years from a top competitive Warlord to lower-end pick and has now drifted back in that direction for the first time in a long time, and were therefore giving his rule a little top up. Not a huge boost, but enough to make a difference.

Fulgrim

Daemon Primarch of Slaanesh

Position: 69th | Winrate: 74.0% | Playrate: 0.3%

Seekers of Perfection: A friendly card’s first attack deals [+50 -> +75%] damage. Additionally, attacks made against enemies at (or above) their base Wounds deal [+50 -> +75%] damage. This can stack, for a maximum of [+100 -> +150%] additional damage.

Fulgrim is perhaps the most difficult of the Daemon Primarchs to get maximum value out of and has lacked behind his Daemonic brothers, finally now reaching the bottom of the pile. Rather than letting his wallow and losing his thirst for battle, we’re juicing up his damage potential and should now be hitting much more aggressively and give the feeling of overwhelming momentum that we were aiming for.

Specimen: LV-808-WS-δ

Hive Fleet Levitation Hive Tyrant

Position: 67th | Winrate: 75.5% | Playrate: 0.4%

-5 Cost

While having a small window with a decent uptick in winrate after the buff to the damage of his special rule the Flyrant is flying below the clouds again. A big obstacle to an effective Tyranid deck can start with the cost of the Warlord and so we’re giving more room in the deck for bigger beasties to fill out the roster, or get one more member of the swarm for free.

Bodyguard Changes:

With the Warlord Changes out the way here are the changes to the bodyguard for Chaos daemons. Were having two older Slaanesh daemons with some trait swaps, giving them a bit of a different identity, and then two Tzeentch cards, both iterations of the Flamer, getting reworked from Ranged cards to Psychic cards.

Zzak’tar – Burning Chariot of Tzeentch
Attack Type Change: All Ranged stats and upgrades changed to Psychic
Ready Type Change: Ranged Buff -> Psychic Buff

Qizhrak – Flamer of Tzeentch
Attack Type Change: All Ranged stats and upgrades changed to Psychic
Trait Change: Barrage -> Fear

Syll’Esske – The Vengeful Allegiance

Trait Change: Inspiring Presence -> Medicae
Ready Change: Psychic Debuff -> Melee Buff

The Changeling – Trickster of Tzeentch
