The new season will start on Monday, September 28th.

With planets stripped bare for their resources by the Kyn, we now find bones picked clean as Kroot warbands descend for the Greater Good. It’s been a long time coming but we now finally have an upcoming Warlord to represent the myriad species that fall into the T’au Empire beyond the T’au themselves!

For balance changes this Season we’re focusing therefore on T’au bodyguards that fall into this category, as well a few other with the usual lower performance rates. And for Warlords, we’re having quite a broad change focusing primarily on Epic Warlords.

More specifically there is a large number of Epic Warlords who have Inspiring Presence as their secondary trait. While situationally useful, realistically by the time they’ve unlocked trait rank I, most players will have available support options at a much higher level that make it obsolete, and even at max level you will often find the weaker Inspiring Presence overridden by a higher trait bodyguard, or the buff not make substantial enough of a difference to tip the battle in your favour. So, if faction order here are the eight Epic Warlords in question getting a trait adjustment as needed:

Warlord Changes:

Zephyrblade

Craftworld Saim-Hann Autarch

Trait Change:
[Primary Trait] Scout -> Inspiring Presence
[Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Shielded

Nemesor Zahndrekh

Sautekh Dynasty Grand High Master

Transient Madness: At the start of each player’s turn, all your friendly cards receive [+15% -> +25%] to either their melee or ranged stats, for the duration of the turn.

Trait Change:
[Primary Trait] Outflank -> Inspiring Presence
[Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Outflank

Commander Farsight

Leader of the Farsight Enclaves

Trait Change: [Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Shielded

Commander Shadowsun

Heroine of the Third Sphere Expansion

Trait Change: [Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Shielded

Ursarkar E. Creed

Lord Castellan of Cadia

Trait Change:
[Primary Trait] Outflank -> Inspiring Presence
[Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Outflank

Canoness Veridyan

Adepta Sororitas Canoness

Trait Change: [Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Scout

Grand Master Voldus

Grey Knights Grand Master

Trait Change:
[Primary Trait] Psychic Link -> Inspiring Presence
[Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Fear

Brother-Lieutenant Tolmeron

Blood Angels Primaris Lieutenant

Trait Change:
[Primary Trait] Furious Charge -> Inspiring Presence
[Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Scout

This is a positive change for all Warlords affected, but for already successful Warlords the impact is going to be small, where for the others it should make a meaningful difference. Nemesor Zandrehk is also getting a boost to his Warlord rule to help boost him overall as well.

After the Warlord buffs and tidy up we’ll be looking at this months bodyguard change which is a follows:

Warlord Changes:

Honoured Aun’Vessol

Vior’la Sept Ethereal

Stat Change: +10 Wounds

Dahyak Grekh

Kroot Tracker

Ready Change: Melee Debuff -> Ranged Buff

Shas’vre Dash’nath

Ta’unar Supremacy Armour

Cost Change: -4 Cost

Tehkgrok Ch’choh

Kroot Kill-broker

Stat Change: +10 Wounds, -5 Ranged, +10 Melee
Ready Change: Ranged -> Melee Buff
Trait Change: [Secondary Trait] Outflank -> Fear

ByahmAhk Krrah

Krootox Rider with Tanglecannon

Stat Change: -10 Wounds, +10 Melee
Trait Change: [Primary Trait] Berserk -> Fear

Shas’vre Kasashi

Vior’la Sept Riptide Battlesuit

Cost Change: -4 Cost

DoakhYe Trosk

Kroot Trail Shaper

Ready Type: Ranged Debuff -> Melee Buff
Trait Change: [Secondary Trait] Inspiring Presence -> Fear

A number of changes here and key identity switch up for the Kroot. Fear is something that T’au have been majorly lacking, and having it on the regular suits and gunline have never really felt like the correct place. Transitioning it sparingly to the Kroot and other auxiliaries makes a lot more sense and thematic with their ambush and stalking tactics, as well as ferocious nature. Both the Epic Kroot characters here now gain access to it, but as Secondary traits. Combined with the Tanglecannon Krootox gaining it as a primary, it sees a decent increase without being able to be max level fear oppressiveness across the board. It also makes them much more appealing tech pieces for the faction given their Ranged stats being lower than average for T’au generally made them less appealing than other options.
