In this latest Warlord update, we’re excited to introduce not one but two new Warlords! Introducing Hatred’s Embrace for the Chaos Knights and Canis Rex for the Imperial Knights.

With the Daemon Primarchs on the horizon, we wanted to bring the Knights to the forefront ahead of the upcoming Chaos releases. Both of these Warlords are based on existing models and have been long-time Warlord concepts. Some veteran players might remember their origins as early “event Warlords,” available exclusively in the original Apocalypse campaign events. Now, with some adjustments and updates, these Warlords are making their full-time debut in the roster!

It’s a fitting time to release them, especially as Apocalypse has evolved into a fully fleshed-out game mode. These Warlords specialize in enhancing the biggest cards in their faction’s arsenal, reinforcing the grand scale of warfare the Knights embody.

Just like in the lore and on the tabletop, where Imperial and Chaos Knights are reflections of each other, these Warlords share an opposing take on a powerful rule:

Hatred’s Embrace (Chaos Knights)

Canis Rex (Imperial Knights)

These abilities ensure that your most formidable units become even deadlier or significantly harder to take down. While their power is undeniable, their impact will be most felt in Apocalypse seasons, where they can command a full roster of heavy-hitting Knights. In smaller 200-point ranked battles, their presence may be less dominant due to their cost and conditional buffs.

The Abominant, Hatred’s Embrace, will be available this Friday (March 14, 2025), with Canis Rex following shortly after on March 28, 2025. Their Hero Packs will also be the first to introduce two new legendary cards with a brand new Knight Lord of War, one for each faction. Keep an eye out for these powerful additions to your collection!
