Greeting Citizens
The Warlord releases keep coming with Lady Malys arriving to expand the Aeldari roster.
Lady Malys brings a twist to the existing bounce mechanic and creates a defensive control playstyle against her nearest counterpart Lelith’s all out aggression. Let’s take a look at her now:

Her rule Devious Precognition reads:
“Whenever an opponent deploys a card opposite a friendly card, return that card to its owner’s hand.
The deployed card gains the Venom’s Bite status effect and suffers 20 wounds at the end of each player’s turn.
This ability can trigger up to 6 times per game.”

This introduces a familiar “bounce” mechanic, but unlike Lelith’s aggressive style, Malys’s ability is reactive, it punishes enemy deployments rather than rewarding your own. The Venom’s Bite effect functions like Poison, but as a separate status effect it can stack with Poison for devastating attrition damage.
Also worth mentioning since an opponent’s card (in most normal circumstances) can only be deployed once, you won’t be losing out by double triggering of this rule often.
Malys excels at disrupting an opponent’s opening plays: her ability can leave the entire enemy board poisoned while giving you full knowledge of their starting lineup.
The 6-trigger cap applies globally across the game. That means you can return one card six times, six different cards once each, or any combination in between. Compared to leaders like Lelith and Creed, this makes Malys highly flexible — but with a stricter ceiling on her ability’s use.
We can’t wait to see Lady Malys hit the field, turning the tide with battlefield manipulation and calculated attrition!
Sounds a bit dull to be honest. And you really have to do something about initiative and first deployments. It is already a big advantage to be able to react with your cards to the opponent but having this advantage the whole game is just too much.
Let it change with each turn who has to deploy first. Your turn to attack? Well you have to deploy first then.
