The new season will start on Monday, October 27th.
Greetings, citizens!
From the despair of Commoragh we head into the joyful gardens of Nurgle, this Season brings the fourth and final Daemon Primarch to the Combat Cards roster!
Seasonal Balance Changes:
This season brings a good breadth of Warlords to be adjusted and another recent Supreme Commander coming out the gates a little too hard. Lets dive in for the full details.
Uthar the Destined
High Kahl of the Greater Thurian League
Position: 69th | Winrate: 71.3% | Playrate: 0.5%
Eye of the Ancestors: Whenever an enemy card destroys a friendly card it gains a Judgment Token. For each Judgment Token a card has, it loses a minimum of [20 -> 25%] of its starting Wounds when it is damaged by an attack. A card may have up to 3 Judgment Tokens.
Uthar has been struggling for a while and gets his second buff in recent times. Ironically despite the increase in the Votann roster, his win and playrate has gone down, and part of this may be him being pushed out by Buri now that he has settled into the roster more fully.
Helbrecht
High Marshal of the Black Templars
Position: 68th | Winrate: 72.7% | Playrate: 1.0%
Mark of the Exemplar: Each time a friendly card kills an opponent with a Melee attack, it gains a Mark of the Exemplar. For each Mark of the Exemplar increase all attacks of friendly cards by [15 -> 20%].
It’s surprising to see Helbrecht at the bottom of the list, as he was once one of the dominant Warlord picks for Space Marines. However with a slow and gradual slide downwards he’s now nearly at the bottom. With a mono attack preference he faces the opposite challenge to Azrael last Season, but with this buff and the strong Space Marine melee roster he should bounce back just fine.
Ghosar
Genestealer Patriarch
Position: 67th | Winrate: 73.7% | Playrate: 0.7%
Stat Increase: +40 Wounds
Infestation Swarm: At the end of each players’ turn, all your cards (including those in your deck) gain [+3 -> +6] melee attack.
Little Ghosar has been lagging some way behind especially after the release of the Supreme Commander version, and he’s finally reached the point where he needs a tune up. This is a significant boost to his rule and should make him a very viable Warlord choice again.
Lord Kaldor Draigo
Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights
Position: 1st | Winrate: 87.5% | Playrate: 1.0%
Untouchable Purity: Whenever you play a friendly card, it makes an attack with its highest attack type at [100 -> 75%]. Additionally, friendly cards cannot take more than 60% of their base Wounds as damage from a single attack.
Kaldor has come out swinging and already hit the top of the list only a few months after release. This is a massive climb even out pacing Angron’s rise, and so we’re stepping in to curtail that a bit. The protection rule preventing one-shot kills against his cards is staying as is for the moment so we are addressing the initial free attack.
Turns out being both incredibly strong offensively and defensively can be a bit too much, so we’re tuning the offense down for now and will continue to keep an eye on him.
Finally, there have been some Community rumblings about the viability or power of Lady Malys our latest Warlord. Well, the stats are in for her first Season, and she’s boasting an impressive 80.4% win rate, which puts her straight into the middle of the pack at 34th place. For a brand new Warlord, that’s a really strong result and places here 4th out of the 7 Aeldari Warlords. The feedback has been heard, and we will continue to keep tabs on her, but all in all, she’s been a well-balanced new entry.
With the Warlord changes done, let’s have a quick look at the bodyguard changes:

Card Art Changes
Brother Remial > Brother Mirthen
Dark Angels Aggressor > Imperial Fists Aggressor
Veteran Brother Geminus
Ultramarines Sternguard Veteran > Imperial Fists Sternguard Veteran
Captain Darnath Lysander
Imperial Fist Captain
Vulkan He’stan
Forgefather of the Salamanders
Brother Jansen > Brother Skorrn
Ultramarines Primaris Techmarine > Iron Hands Primaris Techmarine
Fenrik Red-Eye > Hezonn Antarnar
Space Wolves Aggressor > Salamander Aggressor
Chaplain Argastes > Chaplain Uzgha
Raven Guard Primaris Chaplain on Bike > White Scar Primaris Chaplain on Bike
Changing chapters for well known, long running marine cards is NOT ok.
Am I reading this correctly? Have you changed the chapters on some of these character cards? Where’s the official lore on that? Sorry but I’m not cool with these changes.
No dice que cambian los capítulos cambian el arte de las cartas de capítulos diferentes que se parecen demasiado
Votann need at least one endless unit. Uthar especially would benefit from that. It would make him much more of a contender.
I’d like to know why Arjac Rockfist has Furious Charge instead of Big Game Hunter? Especially since the range refresh. I think it would be a reasonable and well recieved change/upgrade to an already amazing xharacter. Also, why did Logan get a second card? Rather than upgldating the card art?
I think he should have gotten a supreme commander card with his new art work if he was gonna get a new card. New card not being a leader is weird.
PURE HERESY TO CHANGE CHAPTERS OF EXISTING CHARACTERS AND TO DEMORALIZE WITH NAME CHANGES.
Why not logically create new cards for these new additional characters? To represent and introduce a chapter or faction or army , the developers should ;without a doubt , create new cards not take away and essentially “push aside” an existing character . Poor move , why bother to level up a card and have it taken away . Question for the developer that thought this was a great idea….. do you do this to your actual Miniatures that you paint for your tabletop experience? Do you after the time and effort to build and paint them do you strip them down and make them another chapter or “kit bash” and use them for another faction ?
So in a nutshell, we upgraded these characters because we liked them and now , who cares , you get to change the card from what it ORIGINALLY was. Hey I got a great April fools joke for next year …..take the whole roster of existing cards and completely change them all to all new characters…watch how many gamers leave your game after they put time into leveling . What a terrible mistake this was……I can logically see upgrading the character’s card pose or image but not completely make the ORIGINAL CHARACTER NON EXISTENT.
Wow.
SMH.
Why bother leveling a character ?
Now we all as “gamers” have to worry that the developers will wipe out the characters completely.
Nobody really cares about LORE or the actual army, faction , chapter character , wtf just happened here?
Why bother leveling a card with time and possibly money when the developer will make the original character non existent and create a new character on that card ?
There is NOTHING to stop the developer from doing that to ANY character or card.
What does the developer-er have to say to gamers that “paid’ (through game currency which is Monopoly money in place of the real cash that is used to purchase season pass ) to get those Original Characters Leveled?
Why bother ? Leveling? Choosing a favorite character to play? Choosing a favorite faction? Choosing a favorite army? Choosing a favorite Chapter? Take the Choice away from the gamer that is the developer response.
Terrible move.
The Imperial Fist aggressor still has lore text implying it is a Dark Angel. Love the representation for more chapters, though!
Nice cards
I love all of these I also think there should be more salamanders especially so intercessors
Devs, I’m begging you – premove that 20% buff enemies get after 6k rating. Veterans who have been playing this game for years and have max lvled legendaries are laughing at this “feature” anyway. It only punishes new players and completely kills the motivation to play ranked for anyone who doesn’t have maxed out cards…
